Facilitation
I believe that creative expression is a right, not a privilege, and that storytelling can be a catalyst for social change. With a background in community development and outreach & support work, I’m passionate about breaking down barriers to participation in the arts and supporting others to tell their stories.
I’ve designed, delivered and co-led creative and critical writing workshops with numerous community groups and organisations, including Impact Arts, Creative Change Collective, Mainstay Trust, Romano Lav and Get It Loud in Libraries. I’ve also worked with the Scottish Prison Service, HMP Barlinnie and NHS Scotland, and am currently a Lead Reader with the creative writing organisation Open Book. Across these projects, I’ve supported young people, people going through the asylum process, people incarcerated and people with learning disabilities to create original plays, radio scripts, screenplays, poetry and pieces of critical writing.
I also have experience delivering SQAs in Communications and Creative writing to early school leavers and adults in community educational settings.
I’m always keen to work with groups as a facilitator or teacher. If you would like to chat about collaborating on a project, please get in touch.
